How Yorbit works

What happens in a check

1. You answer a few questions, one at a time.
2. We apply the rules that fit your answers, and only those.
3. You see the amount or the right you have, the deadline, and where to send your claim.
4. For flights, broadband and energy you can get a free letter. Train companies take claims on their own pages, so we link you straight there.
5. If the company says no or does not reply in time, the check names the ombudsman or dispute scheme you can go to.

Where the rules come from

Every rule we use was read on the regulator's own site, the law itself, or the company's own terms. Each one carries the link to that page and the date we checked it. If we cannot confirm a rule is current, the checks do not show it. When sources disagree, we leave the figure out rather than guess.

Letters and AI

Letters are drafted by an AI model, Claude, made by Anthropic, using only the rules for your case. Before you see a letter, we check every pound amount in it against the rules. A letter with an amount the rules did not produce is thrown away. You read, change and send every word yourself.

What we do with your answers

We do not save the answers you give in a check. If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address only to tell you about new checks.

How we make money

Today the site is free and earns nothing. In future we plan to add deals and ways to save, and some of those links may pay us a commission. They will always be labelled.

• We will never take a cut of the money you get back.
• We will never charge you for a check or a letter.
• No company can pay to change what our checks say about it.
